How To Get Perfect Cat’s Eye

The cat eye makeup look is one that is fun and surprisingly simple to create. You can easily wing your eyeliner to transform your day look into a nighttime look instantly. You could also spark it up by adding metallic eyeliner, dark eyeshadow, false eyelashes with sequins, or any other fun extras you can think of. First, let’s follow one technique to create a basic cat eye with liquid eyeliner.

black/smoke

You will need liquid eyeliner to create this look. My favorites include e.l.f  Eyeliner  and Shadow Stick which has a curved sponge tip, and e.l.f  Waterproof Eyeliner Pen which has a brush tip.Black

Don’t worry too much about getting trivial amounts in your eye when applying, as most reputable liquid eyeliners are ophthalmologist-tested and hypoallergenic, which means they are safe for contact lens wearers and shouldn’t irritate your eyes.

Be sure to brush off any excess liquid eyeliner on the product tube before applying to avoid loading too much onto your eyes. If you have trouble applying liquid eyeliner, it’s okay to draw your cat eye first with pencil eyeliner then trace over with liquid. Also, if your eyes tear easily, it’s okay to use liquid only on your top lash line and use pencil eyeliner to line your bottom lid.

1. Prep your eyelid by applying matte foundation and/or an eyeshadow primer. This helps to keep liquid eyeliner from smearing or fading easily.

2. Using brown or black liquid eyeliner, start in the middle of your lash line and glide your liner out past your eye a bit. I find that tracing your lash line closely keeps the line straight, and you can always go back and add more to get the line to your desired thickness.

3. Now, go back and start from your inner eye and glide the liner across until it meets the line you just made.

4. To get a perfectly winged cat eye, carefully extend the liner up to a point and fill in or trace over any uneven spaces.

Product Review: Stila’s Eye Shadow

It’s something unexpected in eyeshadow: an explosion of stars. Stila’s shadows’ silky texture delivers an incredible amount of sophisticated, twinkling sparkle. Boasting 40% more glitter than our most sparkly shadows, Stila’s delivers a sheer wash of color, topped with teeny bits of iridescent sparkle that glisten like wet snow. The glitter (a pricey ingredient called reflex), actually stays on your lids. No fallout, no chunky glitter… just stunning, sparkling eyes.

Stila Eye Shadow Trio Bronze Glow

From uptown neutrals like black, grey and brown to bright pops of turquoise, green and purple, the galaxy of shades helps create tons of looks, and blend well with our other Stila eye shadows and range of 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils.

TIPS:
Achieve more vibrant color when applied with your fingers – whether you choose wet or dry, Stila’s unique formulation loves a personal touch!

Looking for a softer sheer color wash? Use an eyeshadow brush.

Try it wet for most intense color – and remember the power is in your fingertips with Stila’s eye shadow.

Stardust is unlike any other shadow – you will see some glazing on the surface after use – this is part of her character and does not affect the color or sparkle factor.

Makeup Tip 1 – Stay True to You

Your wedding day is a time to showcase your unique beauty and style that’s all your own. This may or may not be the best time to try a new look. If you’ve seen makeup in a bridal magazine or on a celebrity that looks fantastic – you might want to wait until a less visible time to try it out. You want your family, friends, and fiancé to recognize you as you make your walk down the aisle.

Makeup Tip 2 – Allergies Happen . . . But, Not Today

Whether you decide to do your own makeup, hire a friend or a professional makeup artist insist on using your own mascara, eyeliner and eye drops. Allergic reactions happen far too frequently and you do one need a reaction on your most special day.

Makeup Tip 3 – Shimmer . . . Don’t Shine

Shimmering bronzers, highlighters and light-refractive makeup are quite fashionable.  the rage right now, they don’t always translate well into photographs. You want to look fresh, but not overly shiny.

Makeup Tip 4 – Need Professional Help

If you are not makeup-savvy or even if you are, why not hire a makeup artist to come create your look on your special day? It will take the pressure off you, you’ll look terrific, and you’ll have one less thing to worry about. Just be sure to insist on a “practice session” several days before so that you can be confident you’ll look your very best.

How to Choose an Eyeliner Color

Let’s start with eyeliner color and go from there. Two good options for dark eyes are black or dark brown eyeliner. Whether your eyes are light or dark brown, your eyeliner should be dark brown and black. Don’t line your eyes too thick; a thin line will do just fine.

If you’re trying to open smaller eyes, line first with silver or white. Start from the inside corner of your eyelid and stop about third of the way through. Then finish with a black or a dark brown liner.

Navy, forest green, violet and copper are also great eyeliner choices. Play around with the different colors and pick the ones you like best.

How to Choose an Eye shadow

The most common issue women ask me is “which eye shadow can I wear with my brown eyes?” Continue to read below ladies and I’ll have an answer for you.

Eye shadow is meant to highlight and define the eyes. Eye shadow is used to create depth to bring out the beauty of the eyes. A dark color used on the lid will make the eye appear smaller, while a lighter color will make it appear larger.

Common makeup tips for brown eyes typically include browns, beige and neutral tans. Grays and charcoals also look good with this eye color, as do violet and lavender. You can mix it up with lavender and a violet.

Khaki and olive green are a great color combination. Browns with green highlights or copper highlights are always a fun option. Try copper and even gold. If your eyes have a tinge of green, choose green eye shadows as well.

I find that brown eye shadow looks quite good with my brown eyes. I use browns that have some highlights in the color – usually, gold or silver highlights. Do remember that brown eye shadow can look very good with brown eyes and green eye shadow can look very good with green eyes. Brown eye shadows are all pretty safe, so you don’t have to worry too much about those.

I love using black, gray and charcoals when I want a smoky eye looks. Otherwise I wouldn’t suggest it as an eye shadow.
